As a special event for our CWC membership, AJ Wargo (son of Anne Wargo, CWC President), hosted a historical webinar titled American History : Assassinations.
For the last seven years, AJ Wargo, his mom Anne, and grandmother have visited museums, historic sites, statues, libraries, anything remotely relevant to successful (and unsuccessful) presidential (and other famous figure) assassinations in the United States.
A hands-on way to learn history, AJ, Anne, and grandma have made it to Buffalo to retrace the steps of Leon Cholgoz, the anarchist who shot President William McKinley. They have been to Baton Rouge and New Orleans to check out the history of Huey Long. Of course, they’ve made it to Dallas. In all, AJ has documented his journey to nine assassination venues.
There is real scholarship in these quirky road trips. Attendees got an interesting view of one aspect of American history while picking up odd bits of information about a whole lot more.
